Eligibility

To be eligible for our programs, you must have successfully completed the Terminale or have what L’École du Show-Business considers sufficient training or work experience.

Although similar, the education systems in Quebec and other French-speaking countries do have some differences. The admissions advisors are specialized in the study of school records and will be able to guide you as to which documents you need to provide.

How to register

The registration process for foreign students has four steps. We suggest you start the process approximately five or six months before the planned date of your course because of the time required to obtain your residence permit.

1- Application for admission to L’École du Show-Business

  • Fill out the Request for Study of Eligibility (PDF) form
  • Attach a copy of your birth certificate and a certified copy of your most recent diploma or your official course transcript.
  • Send everything to us at: info@ecoledushowbusiness.com or by fax:1-514-271-2434.
  • After studying your application, we will provide you with a letter of admission (in approximately two weeks) and your education service contract that you must sign; you will also need C$250 to go onto the following step.

2- Certificate of acceptance

A: For French citizens :

You must first present yourself (or write) to the Quebec delegation in Paris to obtain a Certificate of Acceptance.

To submit your application, you will need the following documents:

Residence permit

  • Once you have this document in hand, you will have to communicate with the Canadian visa office to obtain a student authorization. This is the document that will allow you to enter Canada.
  • It is possible that you will have to undergo a medical examination
  • The residence permit will cost you C$125.

3- L’École du Show-Business registration

When you have obtained your residence permit, you need only send us your residence permit which is definite evidence of your admission.

Reception and personalized service

We suggest you arrive approximately one week before your courses start in order to sign your service contract. We will be happy to show you around the college at that time. First, telephone for an appointment with one of our registration advisors.

When you arrive…

Airport reception service: welcome by one of the school's students. Tour of the premises and official meeting with the director of studies.

Practical information

Insurance

You may be covered for free under the Quebec health insurance plan, by virtue of the agreements that exist between certain countries and Canada. If not, the College will recommend an insurance company when you arrive.

Lodging

You will have access to the online housing listings of the Université du Québec à Montréal and those of other downtown colleges. Often, some of our students from out of town or other countries get together and share lodgings while they are in school.

Typical budget

For your information, here is what you will probably have to pay each month to live in Montréal during your stay.

  • Housing: Approximately $500 a month depending on the type of lodgings
  • Transportation: $70 for a monthly pass (unlimited use of metro and buses)
  • Food: $250
  • Recreation: $50
